Description:Â FootFault Device (CSI-G-FF)
Our newly designed FootFault Device for foot-fault/foot-Slip gait analysis is now available!

This setup includes an apparatus with a floor comprised of (parallel rod) walking grid floor/light-filled glass plate below/red laser filed in-between, and associated software that measures primarily two types of behaviors: (1) foot slips, which are measured by slipped limb intercepted by light fields (either in glass plate or beneath the walking grid floor), and (2) locomotor activity measured by video analysis from the bottom.

This test and apparatus have been designed as a measure for ataxia in mice and was created as a replacement for the rotarod test (Kamens & Crabbe, 2007)
